1. The Lord said to Moses,

2. "Make two trumpets of hammered silver, and use them to call the people together and to march out of camp.
|
2. Make H6213 thee two H8147 trumpets H2689 of silver H3701 ; of a whole piece H4749 shalt thou make H6213 them : that thou mayest use H1961 them for the calling H4744 of the assembly H5712 , and for the journeying H4550 H853 of the camps H4264 .
|
|
3. When both trumpets are blown, the people should gather before you at the entrance to the Meeting Tent.
|
3. And when they shall blow H8628 with them, all H3605 the assembly H5712 shall assemble themselves H3259 to H413 thee at H413 the door H6607 of the tabernacle H168 of the congregation H4150 .
|
|
4. If you blow only one trumpet, the leaders, the heads of the family groups of Israel, should meet before you.
|
4. And if H518 they blow H8628 but with one H259 trumpet , then the princes H5387 , which are heads H7218 of the thousands H505 of Israel H3478 , shall gather themselves H3259 unto H413 thee.

|
5. When you loudly blow the trumpets, the tribes camping on the east should move.
|
5. When ye blow H8628 an alarm H8643 , then the camps H4264 that lie H2583 on the east parts H6924 shall go forward H5265 .
|
|
6. When you loudly blow them again, the tribes camping on the south should move; the loud sound will tell them to move.
|
6. When ye blow H8628 an alarm H8643 the second time H8145 , then the camps H4264 that lie H2583 on the south side H8486 shall take their journey H5265 : they shall blow H8628 an alarm H8643 for their journeys H4550 .

|
7. When you want to gather the people, blow the trumpets, but don't blow them as loudly.
|
7. But when H853 the congregation H6951 is to be gathered together H6950 , ye shall blow H8628 , but ye shall not H3808 sound an alarm H7321 .
|
|
8. "Aaron's sons, the priests, should blow the trumpets. This is a law for you and your descendants from now on.
|
8. And the sons H1121 of Aaron H175 , the priests H3548 , shall blow H8628 with the trumpets H2689 ; and they shall be H1961 to you for an ordinance H2708 forever H5769 throughout your generations H1755 .

|
9. When you are fighting an enemy who attacks you in your own land, blow the trumpets loudly. The Lord your God will take notice of you and will save you from your enemies.
|
9. And if H3588 ye go H935 to war H4421 in your land H776 against H5921 the enemy H6862 that oppresseth H6887 you , then ye shall blow an alarm H7321 with the trumpets H2689 ; and ye shall be remembered H2142 before H6440 the LORD H3068 your God H430 , and ye shall be saved H3467 from your enemies H4480 H341 .

10. Also blow your trumpets at happy times and during your feasts and at New Moon festivals. Blow them over your burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, because they will help you remember your God. I am the Lord your God."

10. Also in the day H3117 of your gladness H8057 , and in your solemn days H4150 , and in the beginnings H7218 of your months H2320 , ye shall blow H8628 with the trumpets H2689 over H5921 your burnt offerings H5930 , and over H5921 the sacrifices H2077 of your peace offerings H8002 ; that they may be H1961 to you for a memorial H2146 before H6440 your God H430 : I H589 am the LORD H3068 your God H430 .

11. The cloud lifted from the Tent of the Agreement on the twentieth day of the second month of the second year.
|
11. And it came to pass H1961 on the twentieth H6242 day of the second H8145 month H2320 , in the second H8145 year H8141 , that the cloud H6051 was taken up H5927 from off H4480 H5921 the tabernacle H4908 of the testimony H5715 .

|
12. So the Israelites moved from the Desert of Sinai and continued until the cloud stopped in the Desert of Paran.
|
12. And the children H1121 of Israel H3478 took H5265 their journeys H4550 out of the wilderness H4480 H4057 of Sinai H5514 ; and the cloud H6051 rested H7931 in the wilderness H4057 of Paran H6290 .

13. This was their first time to move, and they did it as the Lord had commanded Moses.
|
13. And they first H7223 took their journey H5265 according to H5921 the commandment H6310 of the LORD H3068 by the hand H3027 of Moses H4872 .
|
|
14. The divisions from the camp of Judah moved first under their flag. Nahshon son of Amminadab was the commander.
|
14. In the first H7223 place went H5265 the standard H1714 of the camp H4264 of the children H1121 of Judah H3063 according to their armies H6635 : and over H5921 his host H6635 was Nahshon H5177 the son H1121 of Amminadab H5992 .

|
15. Nethanel son of Zuar was over the division of the tribe of Issachar.
|
15. And over H5921 the host H6635 of the tribe H4294 of the children H1121 of Issachar H3485 was Nethaneel H5417 the son H1121 of Zuar H6686 .
|
|
16. Eliab son of Helon was over the division of the tribe of Zebulun.
|
16. And over H5921 the host H6635 of the tribe H4294 of the children H1121 of Zebulun H2074 was Eliab H446 the son H1121 of Helon H2497 .
|
|
17. Then the Holy Tent was taken down, and the Gershonites and Merarites, who carried it, moved next.
|
17. And the tabernacle H4908 was taken down H3381 ; and the sons H1121 of Gershon H1648 and the sons H1121 of Merari H4847 set forward H5265 , bearing H5375 the tabernacle H4908 .

|
18. Then came the divisions from the camp of Reuben under their flag, and Elizur son of Shedeur was the commander.
|
18. And the standard H1714 of the camp H4264 of Reuben H7205 set forward H5265 according to their armies H6635 : and over H5921 his host H6635 was Elizur H468 the son H1121 of Shedeur H7707 .

|
19. Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai was over the division of the tribe of Simeon.
|
19. And over H5921 the host H6635 of the tribe H4294 of the children H1121 of Simeon H8095 was Shelumiel H8017 the son H1121 of Zurishaddai H6701 .
|
|
20. Eliasaph son of Deuel was over the division of the tribe of Gad.
|
20. And over H5921 the host H6635 of the tribe H4294 of the children H1121 of Gad H1410 was Eliasaph H460 the son H1121 of Deuel H1845 .
|
|
21. Then came the Kohathites, who carried the holy things; the Holy Tent was to be set up before they arrived.
|
21. And the Kohathites H6956 set forward H5265 , bearing H5375 the sanctuary H4720 : and the other did set up H6965 H853 the tabernacle H4908 against H5704 they came H935 .
|
|
22. Next came the divisions from the camp of Ephraim under their flag, and Elishama son of Ammihud was the commander.
|
22. And the standard H1714 of the camp H4264 of the children H1121 of Ephraim H669 set forward H5265 according to their armies H6635 : and over H5921 his host H6635 was Elishama H476 the son H1121 of Ammihud H5989 .

23. Gamaliel son of Pedahzur was over the division of the tribe of Manasseh,
|
23. And over H5921 the host H6635 of the tribe H4294 of the children H1121 of Manasseh H4519 was Gamaliel H1583 the son H1121 of Pedahzur H6301 .
|
|
24. and Abidan son of Gideoni was over the division of the tribe of Benjamin.
|
24. And over H5921 the host H6635 of the tribe H4294 of the children H1121 of Benjamin H1144 was Abidan H27 the son H1121 of Gideoni H1441 .
|
|
25. The last ones were the rear guard for all the tribes. These were the divisions from the camp of Dan under their flag, and Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai was the commander.
|
25. And the standard H1714 of the camp H4264 of the children H1121 of Dan H1835 set forward H5265 , which was the rearward H622 of all H3605 the camps H4264 throughout their hosts H6635 : and over H5921 his host H6635 was Ahiezer H295 the son H1121 of Ammishaddai H5996 .

26. Pagiel son of Ocran was over the division of the tribe of Asher;
|
26. And over H5921 the host H6635 of the tribe H4294 of the children H1121 of Asher H836 was Pagiel H6295 the son H1121 of Ocran H5918 .
|
|
27. Ahira son of Enan was over the division of the tribe of Naphtali.
|
27. And over H5921 the host H6635 of the tribe H4294 of the children H1121 of Naphtali H5321 was Ahira H299 the son H1121 of Enan H5881 .
|
|
28. This was the order the Israelite divisions marched in when they moved.
|
28. Thus H428 were the journeyings H4550 of the children H1121 of Israel H3478 according to their armies H6635 , when they set forward H5265 .
|
|
29. Hobab was the son of Reuel the Midianite, who was Moses' father-in-law. Moses said to Hobab, "We are moving to the land the Lord promised to give us. Come with us and we will be good to you, because the Lord has promised good things to Israel."
|
29. And Moses H4872 said H559 unto Hobab H2246 , the son H1121 of Raguel H7467 the Midianite H4084 , Moses H4872 ' father H2859 -in-law, We H587 are journeying H5265 unto H413 the place H4725 of which H834 the LORD H3068 said H559 , I will give H5414 it you: come H1980 thou with H854 us , and we will do thee good H3190 : for H3588 the LORD H3068 hath spoken H1696 good H2896 concerning H5921 Israel H3478 .

30. But Hobab answered, "No, I will not go. I will go back to my own land where I was born."
|
30. And he said H559 unto H413 him , I will not H3808 go H1980 ; but H3588 I H518 will depart H1980 to H413 mine own land H776 , and to H413 my kindred H4138 .

|
31. But Moses said, "Please don't leave us. You know where we can camp in the desert, and you can be our guide.
|
31. And he said H559 , Leave H5800 us not H408 , I pray thee H4994 ; forasmuch H3588 H5921 H3651 as thou knowest H3045 how we are to encamp H2583 in the wilderness H4057 , and thou mayest be H1961 to us instead of eyes H5869 .
|
|
32. Come with us. We will share with you all the good things the Lord gives us."
|
32. And it shall be H1961 , if H3588 thou go H1980 with H5973 us, yea , it shall be H1961 , that what H834 goodness H2896 the LORD H3068 shall do H3190 unto H5973 us , the same will we do H3190 unto thee.

|
33. So they left the mountain of the Lord and traveled for three days. The Ark of the Lord's Agreement went in front of the people for those three days, as they looked for a place to camp.
|
33. And they departed H5265 from the mount H4480 H2022 of the LORD H3068 three H7969 days H3117 ' journey H1870 : and the ark H727 of the covenant H1285 of the LORD H3068 went H5265 before H6440 them in the three H7969 days H3117 ' journey H1870 , to search out H8446 a resting place H4496 for them.

34. The Lord's cloud was over them during the day when they left their camp.
|
34. And the cloud H6051 of the LORD H3068 was upon H5921 them by day H3119 , when they went H5265 out of H4480 the camp H4264 .
|
|
35. When the Ark left the camp, Moses said, "Rise up, Lord! Scatter your enemies: make those who hate you run from you."
|
35. And it came to pass H1961 , when the ark H727 set forward H5265 , that Moses H4872 said H559 , Rise up H6965 , LORD H3068 , and let thine enemies H341 be scattered H6327 ; and let them that hate H8130 thee flee H5127 before H4480 H6440 thee.

36. And when the Ark was set down, Moses said, "Return, Lord, to the thousands of people of Israel."
|
36. And when it rested H5117 , he said H559 , Return H7725 , O LORD H3068 , unto the many H7233 thousands H505 of Israel H3478 .
